I joined the company in May 1995 as the Editor of Group Travel Organiser magazine, having previously been a reader as I was, at the time, a group travel organiser myself. In fact I have been the Group Experience ‘victim’, but I’m not telling you in which issue!
During my tenure we began the annual Readers’ Day – an opportunity for GTO magazine readers to be the first to experience a new venue or service – and in 1996 we held the first Group Travel Awards in June, which are now an annual date in the travel trade dairy.
I subsequently became Managing Editor and a Director of the company and am now the Project Development Director for GTO’s parent company, Landor Travel Publications, so you’ll still see me at trade shows, but wearing a slightly different hat!
