The annual Bath Literature Festival will take place in March 2008, featuring a week long series of events themed around literature, writing and current affairs.

The festival will feature a series of discussions and literary forums that groups can attend, led by authors such as Hugh Lupton and Chris Wood, poetry readings and open debates on various subjects relating to contemporary literature.

Within the theme of current affairs, the festival will be leading on from its 2007 slavery theme, with a focus on related modern day issues, such as human trafficking and exploited labour in the third world and its representation in contemporary writing.

Groups will also be able to pre-book a literary ‘walk and discussion’ around the city, which takes a look at authors who have been influenced by the city from the 7th century to the present day.

The Bath Literature Festival will be held at the Bath Guildhall and various other locations in the city. Discounts are available for groups of 10 or more on all charged events. For more information telephone 01225 463362
