Bristol Balloon Fiesta
Hundreds of hot air balloons will be flying westwards to Bristol in August, for the 30th annual Discovery Channel International Bristol Balloon Fiesta. The event will run for four days and host a range of events, both on the ground and in the air.
Groups visiting the show will see the skies above the city lit up during the ‘night-glow’ event, where over a hundred balloons will light their flames to stirring pieces of classical music. The Fiesta will also feature mass launches, where up to 150 balloons, many of a comic and surreal shape, will ascend into the sky.
At the launch ground itself, there will be a fairground, food and beer marquees and outdoor performances by the ‘Flying Gunners’, the Royal Artillery’s motorcycle display team. The event will conclude with a ‘balloon and fireworks display.
The Discovery Channel International Bristol Balloon Fiesta will take place from 7th to 10th August at Ashton Court in Bristol. The event will be free to enter. For more information telephone 0117 953 5884
