Exploring ‘atomic age’ modernist design from the 1950s, ‘From Atoms to Patterns’ recently opened at the Wellcome Collection in London.

The new exhibition brings together a range of classic designs from the period, all of which were featured in the 1951 Festival of Britain. Inspired by images from the new sciences of the day, these include a mix of ‘space-age’ fabrics and furniture.

To learn more about the exhibition, we talk to its guest curator, Lesley Jackson. You can read what he has to say on the ‘An Interview With…’ page of our website.

‘From Atoms to Patterns’ will run until the 10th August at the Wellcome Collection in London. The exhibition is free to enter and groups can pre-book a complementary guided tour. For more information telephone 020 7611 2222.
