Jane Austen Festival
September will see the city of Bath celebrate one of its most famous former inhabitants with its annual Jane Austen Festival.
The Festival will be launched with a Grand Regency Promenade featuring costumed characters taking to the city’s streets. The opening day will also feature a Georgian-themed fair in the city centre and a 19th century dance workshop, where your group can learn a few steps before taking to the floor at a Country Dance near the Cathedral.
The following week will be packed with over 40 events and activities giving your group a chance to enjoy everything from historic walking tours and a Regency Food and Drink Festival to a Georgian-themed Festival Ball at the Bath Assembly Rooms and a specially commissioned performance of Austen’s Northanger Abbey to be staged at Kingswood School.
