Salisbury Cathedral Medieval Fair

A view of Salisbury Cathedral
A view of Salisbury Cathedral

Salisbury Cathedral celebrates its 750th anniversary this year and to mark this occasion, the iconic landmark will be hosting a Medieval Fair.

Taking place in May, groups will have the chance to witness armoured knights competing against one another to become the 2008 Festival Champion. There will also be the opportunity to discover how knights dress for battle and a chance to wear the armour yourselves.

In addition, visitors can view demonstrations of medieval weapons such as the longbow, enjoy medieval music and court entertainers, attend a medieval market and watch falconry displays.

Refreshments will be provided in the form of a traditional hog roast and beer tent celebrating the local brew, Bishop’s Tipple.

The Medieval Fair will take place on 4th and 5th May at Salisbury Cathedral in Wiltshire. Discounted rates of admission are available for pre-booked groups of 15 or more. For more information telephone 01722 555124.
