Shrewsbury International Cartoon Festival

Celebrating the art of the cartoonist, the Shropshire town of Shrewsbury will host the annual International Cartoon Festival in April. The event will feature over 40 professional cartoonists and caricaturists from around the UK and abroad.

Groups will be able to see 20 of the cartoon artists illustrate a giant board in the town’s main square, as well as sit for caricature portraits and view exhibitions of historic political cartoons.

There will be an exhibition of historic political satire and public talks will run throughout the event, themed ‘Is It Art?’ These will feature guest speakers including the Guardian cartoonist Steve Bell.

The Shrewsbury International Cartoon Festival runs from 18th to 20th April at various venues in the town. Entrance to all of the events is free. For more information telephone 01743 281222
