Blackpool is set to benefit from new coach provisions.

Blackpool Council, together with the Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT) and Visit Blackpool, is putting together a transport plan to improve the provision for coaches in the resort.

It has already been announced that Blackpool will receive a new drop-off point at New Bonny Street by the end of 2010 and other locations in the town centre are also being considered.

Blackpool’s main coach park on Lonsdale Road – one of three facilities together with Talbot Road and Gynn Square – has been criticised in the past for being outdated, so the plan is to create more facilities for coaches and make it easier for passengers to offload in the resort.

New literature is also being created detailing the locations of the drop-off points and facilities in the town.
