Bowen Travel Group has purchased 11 new coaches for the 2008 season. Ten of the coaches are Volvo B12Bs with Plaxton Panther bodywork; the 49-seater coaches each feature a DVD player, drinks machine, air conditioning, toilet and a PA system. They will primarily be used for the company’s ‘Door to Door’ holiday programmes.

Yorks Coaches of Northampton and Bowens Travel of the West Midlands each received three of these coaches in June and July, Jeffs Coaches of Oxon took delivery of its first coach in May and is expecting a second coach in September and Nottingham City Coaches of Loughborough is also taking delivery of two coaches next month.

In addition, Yorks Coaches received a Scania Irizar Club Century coach in July, a 40-seater vehicle with leather seats, extra legroom and an individual sound system with headphones to all seats. The coach is used for Elite tours, which are mainly continental and feature stays in more upmarket hotels.
