Coaches lined up in the existing Kingsmead Car Park

Canterbury will gain a brand new coach park if planning permission for the proposed site goes through.

According to the City Council, plans have been submitted to move the existing coach park from Kingsmead Car Park to a brand new facility in St John’s Car Park.

It has also been suggested that the new coach park should feature a brand new visitor information point and toilets for coach passengers visiting the city.

The objective of the council is to open the new coach park in the next year or so.

It is hoped that the proposed coach park’s closer proximity to the cathedral and new and modern conveniences will make travelling to the city by coach a much more pleasant experience.
