The city of Durham has announced plans for its coach drop-off and pick-up points to be moved to a different location in the city centre.

It is still to be confirmed when these new areas will be completed; however, plans suggest that the coach points will move from their existing Market Place location to nearby Freemans Place, which is a larger site. They will be situated on the side of the road leading to Durham City Coach Park and just below the Walkergate Development.

Stairs and a lift will provide visitors with access from the coach drop-off point to Millennium Place where the Tourist Information Centre is situated.

It has also been announced that coach parking in the Durham City Coach Park will become free of charge from 1st April.
