German airline, Air Berlin, which operates flights to Europe, the Canary Islands and North Africa, is currently expanding its fleet of aircraft.

The company, who recently merged with German airline
LTU International Airways, has placed an order for 60
Airbus 320s, which have been described as the world’s most modern medium-haul aircraft. These will be delivered between now and 2011.

Air Berlin has also ordered 60 Boeing 737-800s, another medium-haul aircraft, which are due for delivery between 2008 and 2014 and 25 Boeing 787 Dreamliner long-haul aircraft. These will be delivered between 2013 and 2017 and aim to reduce CO2 emissions
to the environment.

Groups of 10 or more receive discounted air fares and free snacks and soft drinks are available on all Air Berlin flights.
