An artist’s impression of the new waterpark

Set to open in September is Atlantis, The Palm, a new resort located on Palm Jumeirah in Dubai. The design is themed on the mythical lost continent of Atlantis and will closely resemble its sister hotel – Atlantis, Paradise Island in the Bahamas.

The development – covering 113 acres – will offer more than 1500 bedrooms, a spa, two outdoor swimming pools, a 7,500-square metre retail and entertainment complex and 16 bars, cafes and restaurants.

It will also feature a 42-acre waterpark with seven waterslides including ‘Leap of Faith’, which will have a 90-foot vertical drop.

Additionally, there will be an 11-acre dolphin education centre called ‘Dolphin Bay’ and 250 marine species to discover at ‘The Lost Chambers’, a series of underground passageways and tunnels, which will lead the visitor past 18 different marine life exhibits.
