Busch Gardens in Florida has announced plans for the park’s newest project, ‘Jungala’, which is due to open in spring 2008.

Set in the ‘Congo’ area, the four-acre rainforest habitat will provide up-close animal encounters and theme park rides.

Treetop observation platforms and underwater windows will allow visitors to interact with some of the world’s most endangered species including Bengal tigers and orangutans.

There are also plans for a pneumatic ride, called ‘The Wild Surge’, that will seat 14 passengers and will propel you vertically out of a recreated mountain crater, 40-foot up a tower, for a view of the jungle village below.

In addition, two new dining options known as ‘The Bengal Bistro’ and the ‘Orang Cafe’ will be open to visitors.

Pre-booked groups of 15 or more receive a 20 per cent discount on entry to Busch Gardens.
