Observation wheel in Perth
City councillors in Perth, Western Australia have backed the installation of an observation wheel, similar to the London Eye, on the Swan River foreshore.
The 42-gondola, 60-metre high wheel will be privately-operated by London-based company World Tourist Attractions, which currently operates similar observational wheels in London’s Hyde Park, Manchester and York.
The scheme still needs planning approval from the West Australian Planning Commission; however, if approval is given, the wheel could be in operation as early as November. It is likely to remain in place for the next two years.
