The art of LA

Currently undergoing a 100 million pound refurbishment, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art has completed the first of three phases of its renovations and is once again open to the public.

With a collection of over 100,000 works spanning the history of art from Classical Greece to the modern day, the Museum is considered to be one of the most important art institutions in the western U.S.

The first phase of the refurbishment has seen new galleries and exhibition spaces added to the Museum to display its modern art collection, with plans for the following two phases, due to be complete in 2009, including a glass walled and roofed gallery to enhance the Museum’s use of natural light.

Discounts on entry are available for visiting groups.
