Touring by rail
The Staffordshire- based rail tour operator, Railtrail, recently published its new tour brochure in which it gives details of all its European tour packages for 2008.
Over the coming year, the company is offering packages including the week-long Swiss Steam Spectacular. This includes travel to Switzerland’s Lake Lucerne from London’s new St Pancras International station, excursions into the Swiss Alps and a sight-seeing tour through the mountains aboard the steam powered Furka Cog Railway.
In the UK, the company is also offering trips including the five-day Golden Highlander tour to the Scottish Highlands. Featuring the option of rail travel to Scotland from anywhere in the UK, this tour includes excursions such as a train journey across the mountains of northern Scotland.
All of the company’s packages feature rail transport to destinations as well as accommodation, pre-booked excursions to local attractions and guided sightseeing tours. Group discounts are also available.
