Coach and tour operators visit South East Ireland
Tourism Ireland and ferry operator, Stena Line, recently hosted a three-day familiarisation trip to the south east of Ireland, to give coach and tour operators the chance to experience some of the attractions the area has on offer.
Around 20 attendees enjoyed lunch at Jacobs Cottage restaurant in Kilkenny before moving on to explore Kilkenny Castle on a short guided tour. After dropping in at some of the region’s hotels for a show around, the group were then treated to dinner back in Kilkenny at Langdon’s Restaurant, along with music from a traditional Irish band.
The second day saw visits to Waterford Crystal to discover the secrets behind its production as well as stops at Kilmokea Gardens and the Dunbrody famine ship in Wexford. A French spin was put on dinner with a meal at La Boheme Restaurant in Waterford.
The last morning saw a productive workshop take place, where members of the Irish travel trade were able to network with operators on the trip before they set off for home.
