Bodnant Garden re-opens

North Wales’ Bodnant Garden, an historic 19th century site overlooking the River Conwy, will re-open to the public in October after an extensive renovation programme and the building of a new Visitors Centre.

The gardens were laid out over 80 acres in the late 19th century by a wealthy local industrialist, Henry Pochin, and house a range of features such as Victorian follies and ornamental canals. The renovations have seen many of the original features, such as the fountain, restored to full working order, and the Italianate terraces and flowerbeds given new plantings to better reflect the Garden’s original design. The site’s tea rooms, which offer catering to pre-booked groups, have also been modernised.

Groups visiting the site will be able to learn more about its history and the Garden’s plantings at the new Visitors Centre. GTOs can also book talks about the Garden at the new Centre.

The Garden will be open from March to November each year and offers discounts on admission rates to groups of 15 or more people.
