Costume display at Hatfield House

Until the end of September, costumes from the film ‘Elizabeth: The Golden Age’ will be on display at Hatfield House in Hertfordshire, where scenes from the film were shot.

The beaded silk dresses that Cate Blanchett wore along with Clive Owen’s swashbuckling outfit created for his role as Sir Walter Raleigh and the decorated state robe worn by Geoffrey Rush (who played the Queen’s advisor Sir Francis Walsingham) are amongst the items on show.

2008 celebrates the 450th anniversary of Elizabeth I’s accession to the English throne and she spent her childhood years at Hatfield House.

There is no extra charge to view the collection, on display in the Long Gallery, and group admission rates to the House are offered.
