Knebworth adds Lytton talk
The 500-year history of the Lytton family at Knebworth House in Hertfordshire is being traced in a new illustrated talk for groups.
Drawing on photographs and documents from the family archive, the talk will trace the story of the house from its Tudor origins through its Victorian Gothic transformation and the work carried out by Edwin Lutyens right through to the present day.
The house has a colourful history and, over the years, played host to guests as varied as Elizabeth I, Charles Dickens and Mick Jagger.
The talk is being offered to pre-booked groups in conjunction with a house tour for the 2009 season which runs between March and September.
