Peter Rabbit garden created
The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction, in the Lake District, will be opening a new exhibit in May 2009 called ‘The Peter Rabbit Naturally Better Garden’.
The outdoor space will be themed on scenes from the Peter Rabbit stories with heritage varieties of gooseberry bushes, fruit trees and rows of radishes, lettuces and carrots.
Entry to the Garden will be through a potting shed and all produce will be grown using organic techniques. To learn more about these gardening processes, groups will be able to get hints and tips from the on-site gardener.
Next year will also see the introduction of new group meal options at the attraction. A Japanese-inspired bento-box (similar to a British lunch box) called ‘Cumbrian Platter’ will feature locally-sourced produce such as Cumberland sausage and Kendal Crumbly organic cheese, whilst British dishes such as roast beef and fish and chips will also be added to the menu for group visits from spring. These can be enjoyed in the Tailor of Gloucester Tearooms and the Peter Rabbit Tea Garden.
Group rates are offered for parties of 10 or more.
