The trust that looks after The Royal Yacht Britannia has announced plans to restore its Royal Deck, once used by the Royal Family to entertain guests aboard the ship.

The original appearance of the deck will be replicated with an awning-style roof, glass walls and teak deck and it will seat up to 80 visitors. The work will be completed in time for the attraction’s ten-year anniversary celebrations at the end of the year.

During the day, the Royal Deck will serve lunch and light refreshments and in the evening, larger groups will be able to hire the venue for private events, with opportunities for after-dinner entertainment such as jazz bands, swing bands and ceilidhs.
