Shake-up for Shakespeare's Birthplace
Groups visiting Shakespeare’s Birthplace in Stratford-upon-Avon will be able to gain greater insight into the writer’s life from next April.
Life, Love & Legacy: A New Introduction to William Shakespeare is a visitor and exhibition centre that will allow you to walk through a series of fully-automated ‘zones’ displaying artefacts related to the Bard.
Full details are yet to be unveiled, but the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, which runs five venues connected to the Bard, have employed audio visual specialists to create the sophisticated effects planned for the exhibition.
Items such as Shakespeare’s ‘First Folio’, dating from 1623, will be brought to life using state-of-the-art theatical lighting, and the attraction will also make extensive use of projected images.
Shakespeare’s Birthplace will remain open as the new centre takes shape, and visitors will be able to access the house through the exhibition once it opens.
Various group offers are available throughout the five Shakespeare’s Birthplace houses, including a super saver rate for bookings made eight weeks or more in advance.
