Terracotta statues at Blenheim
Blenheim Palace has recently announced the permanent addition of six replica terracotta statues after the originals were removed in 1997 for restoration work.
At the beginning of February, the six replica statues, which represent Roman mythological figures, will sit on the north front façade of Blenheim Palace.
The original statues were constructed during the building of the Palace in the early 18th century and adorned the exterior until the last quarter of the 18th century when they were unexplainedly removed.
These original statues will be placed into alcoves at either side of the Great Court, during February, where they will be better protected from the elements and will be more visible to visitors.
Groups of 15 or more receive a discount on admission to the Palace and can also enjoy themed guided tours.
