Tower of London introduces new tours
From October the Tower of London, one of the properties cared for by Historic Royal Palaces, will be offering three new guided tours to pre-booked groups; The Little Princes, Prisoners and Executions and The White Tower and Chapel of St John.
The Little Princes tours will take your group into the unsolved mystery of the deaths of Edward V of England and his brother Richard of Shrewsbury. Both met an unknown fate in the Tower when still children, possibly at the hands of their uncle, Richard III. Your group will learn more about the politics involved and possible culprits as well as the two child skeletons unearthed under the Tower that many think belong to the princes.
For more tragic tales, the Prisoners and Executions tour will take your group back to the Tower’s history as a royal gaol. Your group will be able to learn more about the Tower’s famous inmates and victims such as Anne Boleyn and Margaret, Countess of Salisbury, whose execution was botched by the executioner, who took 11 tries at removing her head.
Lastly, the White Tower and Chapel of St John tours will explore the oldest part of the site, looking back at its Norman roots.
