Launching the new Wells tours.

Mendip District Council has launched two new guided tours of Wells, in Somerset, which are expected to continue through autumn and winter.

The 60-minute tours, entitled ‘Contemporary Wells’ and ‘Heritage’, both begin at the Tourist Information Centre, in the Market Place, and include a visit to Wells Cathedral, the Bishop’s Palace & Gardens and Vicar’s Close.

The ‘Contemporary Wells’ tour departs at 11am and includes film locations from ‘Hot Fuzz’ and a look inside the Town Hall, whilst the ‘Heritage’ tour departs at 2pm and takes in many of the city’s churches.

Tours are available for a maximum of 25 people at a time on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
