Next month will see the grand opening of the Newseum, an interactive museum about the news industry. Situated in Washington DC, between the White House and the US Capitol, the seven-level museum will explore five centuries of news history through a combination of artefacts, photographs, films and interactives.

The Newseum, which at a cost of more than £200 million took six years to complete, will feature 15 theatres, 14 galleries and two broadcast studios.

Major galleries will include the Berlin Wall Gallery featuring eight sections of the original wall and an 8,000 square-foot News Corporation News History Gallery, which will contain more than 350 historic newspaper front pages.

In addition, the Newseum will include the Leonore Annenberg Theater, which will present a 4D time-travel film exploring news events from the past 150 years. Groups watching the 13-minute film will also experience motion, air gusts and water effects, which will all add to the 4D experience.

Group discounts will be offered for 20 or more people.
