The Washington-based charity Tourism Cares, which encourages people to use their holiday time to help charitable causes, is asking groups to volunteer to help its work in the city.

This includes working on projects such as the restoration of the Louis Armstrong Park in the city’s French Quarter, where Armstrong once lived.
