Watch Washington blossom in 2008
Odyssey, the Washington DC-based dining-cruise operator, is now offering group discounts on dining-cruises aboard its newly refurbished vessel, Odyssey III. These include special evening-long sailings around the Washington Harbour to take in the city’s annual Cherry Blossom Festival, which runs from March to April.
The vessel underwent a £250,000 refurbishment towards the end of last year and now features three glass canopied dining saloons as well as a dance floor where jazz or swing bands perform during each three-hour cruise.
The Cherry Blossom Festival sees the blooming of the harbourside cherry trees. These were a gift to the American people from the Emperor of Japan in 1912 to celebrate the two nations’ short-lived friendship in the first half of the 20th century.
The company offers discounts on cruises to groups of over 20 people.
