1066 country - rich in history

East Sussex tourism body Hastings & 1066 Country will be taking a stand at Excursions to help promote the area to groups.

There will be a focus on the new attraction, Stone Cross Mill, a restored working windmill (circa 1875) near Pevensey. Guided group tours can be booked at the property together with cream teas.

2009 will also mark the International Year of Astronomy and GTOs will be able to learn more about the special events planned for the Observatory Science Centre in Herstmonceux.

Helping to entice visitors to the stand will be an actor dressed as Rudyard Kipling who will be promoting the writers’ former home, Bateman’s, in Etchingham. There will also be a chance to win a bed and breakfast overnight stay for two people in 1066 country.
