Roy Chittock, Holiday Organiser for The Four Seasons Club in Marlow, recently enjoyed a four-day familiarisation trip to the West Midlands along with his partner, organised by West Yorkshire-based Airedale Tours. Says Roy, “I use Airedale Tours for all my holidays and hold them in very high regard.”

The group of 20 group organisers and their guests stayed at the Quality Hotel in Dudley and Roy comments, “The hotel was very good, the staff were friendly and the rooms comfortable.”

Trips were arranged to places of interest such as the Severn Valley Railway, the Ironbridge Gorge Museums, the Black Country Living Museum in Dudley and Cadbury World in Birmingham. “The best part of the trip was definitely the Black Country Living Museum,” explains Roy. “It was brilliant – we were split into two groups and guided around. Our guide was dressed as a policeman from the early 1900s and he was very informative. I also enjoyed Cadbury World, being a chocolate lover!”

The services of a Blue Badge guide were also employed during the stay and Roy was very impressed with his knowledge. “He clearly loved his role and was very enthusiastic, which makes all the difference.” Continuing, Roy says, “I would definitely like to take a group back to the area with Airedale and have pencilled it in as our spring break in 2009. The whole trip was very well organised, as usual, by Airedale.”
