Thirty five people from the March and District Probus Club enjoyed a break to Mid Wales recently, staying in Llandrindod Wells. Social Secretary Ron Webber explains, “I organised the five-day break myself, using local Cambridgeshire-based Towlers Coaches for travel.”

As part of the break, Ron arranged for a guide to accompany the group for a day through the Aberaeron area and on the Vale of Rheidol Railway. “I took advantage of an offer that I had seen advertised for a free guide from Wales Official Tourist Guides – though of course we had a whip round for him at the end of the trip anyway!”

The Elan Valley and Brecon were also areas that featured on the group’s itinerary, with a stop at the Brecon Beacons Mountain Centre. “There were great views from here,” Ron remembers. “Our base for the holiday was the Metropole Hotel in Llandrindod Wells, which was very good; I couldn’t fault it.”
