Frankie Lovelock organises day trips and short breaks for his group S.J. Leisure, based in St Neots in Cambridgeshire, and he recently took 35 people to Ostend in Belgium for a weekend.

“Surrey-based Jag Travel organised coach travel, hotel and Eurotunnel bookings for me,” says Frankie. “Then I sorted out the excursions. I would normally use the ferry for any channel crossings, but I thought the weather might be a bit rough this time so went for a change. The train journey turned out to be quicker and, as most of my group hadn’t travelled by Eurotunnel before, this was their first time!”

The group stayed at the Royal Astor Hotel in Ostend and, after booking in, went their separate ways to explore the town, returning to enjoy the free bar! “The hotel was in a good location and the staff were brilliant,” comments Frankie.

The next day, the group visited Ghent and enjoyed sightseeing and a riverboat trip with Rederij De Gentenaer, which Frankie arranged before he left home. “The guide on the boat trip was most informative and spoke very good English,” Frankie says.

Summing up the holiday, he states, “Ostend had lots going for it and we have already decided we’d like to return. Jag Travel kept in contact throughout the booking period to check everything was ok and phoned me afterwards for feedback so I’ll be booking with them again for our next visit.”
