Daphne Stephenson, GTO for St. Theresa’s Social Group in Leicester, took 48 of her members for a week-long trip to Ireland in June using Creswell’s Coaches, based in Moira, Derbyshire. “We’ve been using Creswell’s for around eight years now as they have proved themselves to be a reliable and friendly company,” she enthuses.

After departing from Leicester, the group travelled to Holyhead, where they crossed the Irish Sea on Stena Lines’ Fast Cat sailing to Dun Laoghaire. “The crossing was lovely and the food onboard was fantastic,” she enthuses. Upon arrival in Dublin, the group browsed the shops and sank a couple of pints of Guinness. “Dublin is a beautiful city, although we were only passing through, we stayed at a lovely hotel called The Ardmore and were impressed with the rooms and service,” she says.

The following day, the group made their way to Killarney in County Kerry to check in at their main hotel, The Killarney Valley Hotel, where they stayed for four nights. “We loved this hotel, it offered everything we could want and made a very comfortable stay,” she adds.

The group made several trips to attractions in the area, which Daphne organised directly, including Blarney Castle to kiss the famous Blarney Stone. They also enjoyed a joint ticket, organised with Killarney Jaunting Cars, to ride through Killarney in a jaunting car, a type of cart, and cruise on Lake Lough Lein. “This was a lot of fun and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves,” she says.

The group then travelled to Portlaoise for an overnight stay at the Montague Hotel before making their way home the following day.
