Jean's Irish escapade
Jean Ledger, GTO for Jean’s Travel Club, with bases in Camberley in Surrey and Farnborough in Hampshire, took 45 members to Ireland for eight days recently. “I arranged the holiday with the help of Hampshire-based Truemans Travel. My contact Sue arranged hotel accommodation, coach travel and ferry crossings, whilst I sorted out excursions,” Jean comments. “I use the company as it is very local and provides a better service than other companies I have used in the past.”
The group travelled from Holyhead to Dublin with Irish Ferries and Jean remembers that they enjoyed “a lovely smooth crossing.”
Staying at the Ashling Hotel in Dublin for two nights, group members enjoyed a hop on, hop off bus service around the city, stopping at places of interest before continuing to Killarney, where the group stayed at the Killarney Towers Hotel. “This was right in the centre, which was brilliant,” says Jean. Excursions from here included a guided coach tour of the Ring of Kerry.
The holiday culminated with an overnight stop in Rosslare at the Crosbie Cedars Hotel visiting Blarney Castle and the Waterford Crystal Visitor Centre en route. Jean sums up by saying, “Judging by the cards, messages and gifts I have received, I am sure that everyone thoroughly enjoyed their visit to Ireland. A big thank you to Sue at Trumans Travel and to Dave, our coach driver.”
