Living the high life on the French Riviera

Members of Leonora’s group enjoy a guided tour of Monaco

Leonora Vroobel, group travel organiser for the Essex-based Redbridge U3A, recently organised a six-day holiday for 42 members to Nice and The French Riviera.

“One of my members suggested visiting the area as a bit of a laugh but I contacted Tailored Travel, in Croydon, who said organising an itinerary wouldn’t be a problem,” says Leonora. “The company provides a very good service and arranged everything apart from coach transfers to and from the airport in the UK, which were provided by Chiltern Travel in Ilford, whose coaches are always spotless.”

The group stayed on the outskirts of Antibes, and during their holiday, excursions included guided tours of Nice, Cagnes Sur Mer, Cannes and Monaco. Comments Leonora, “All these guided tours were good; visiting Cannes was special as they were preparing for the Cannes Film Festival at the time, and the area has wonderful architecture.”

On the last day, the group changed their itinerary slightly to enjoy free time in Antibes rather than Nice, has they had already explored this city. As Leonora says, “Being a private group means that you are able to do this.” Summing up, Leonora states, “We were very happy with the holiday and the weather was absolutely glorious. We have even provisionally booked another holiday in May next year with Tailored Travel, this time visiting Lake Maggiore, in Italy.”
