Group travel organiser, Joan Gilbert, recently took a group of 30 friends from around the country to Malta on an eight-day holiday. “Wiltshire-based Success Tours organised the break. I had been on a familiarisation trip with the company to the island and thought it so enjoyable that my group of friends would also love it – we call ourselves Private Tours for Pleasure when travelling with Success and have been to Italy several times before with them.”

The group stayed in the Grand Hotel Mercure San Antonio, about 10 minutes from St Paul’s Bay. “This was very well positioned next to a bus station and catered well for wheelchairs, with an excellent choice of food at breakfast and dinner,” says Joan. “The group were allocated their own tables, which was very useful as it has a large restaurant, and I was allowed a very nice room for our use every evening.”

Plenty of sightseeing was enjoyed by the group including excursions to Mdina, a boat trip around the Blue Grotto and a trip to the neighbouring island of Gozo. She concludes,” We had an excellent guide and driver on this holiday and I have had many really appreciative thank you letters.”
