Seeing the letter from Jean Springett requesting information on familiarisation trips in a previous issue of GTO (Nov/Dec) has prompted me to put pen to paper.

To get access to some good familiarisation trips all over the country, join the GTOA, who will put you on their membership base. This is then available to suppliers who send members invites for familiarisation trips and other special offers. Also, you can try ringing up the Tourist Information Centre of the area in question, where they will be able to see what is available for you in the way of visits. They will also have lots of ideas to make up an itinerary suitable for the tastes and interests of your group.

Armed with all that information, you can then contact a firm, such as Airedale Tours, and, with their help, arrange an itinerary for your group outing as well as accommodation for the trip.
